FULHAM ROAD
The refurbishment and reconfiguration of two substantial terraced mixed-use buildings on Fulham Road comprising a retail unit at ground and storage in the basement with six flats above, all in a poor state of repair.
The Brief
The new owner of the site wanted to ensure the future stability and safety of the building before refurbishing the flats and common areas, altering the residential entrance to allow for cycle and refuse stores, and replacing the shopfront.
The Design
After an initial structural study to assess the condition of the existing building, we have been appointed to deliver the structural design to strengthen key elements of the façade, removal and repositioning of the staircase to open up the floor layouts, repair and replace internal floors and ceilings within the apartments, along with a new roof construction using steel and timber and the introduction of small roof terraces / balconies for the flats.
