If you passed through St James’ Park last week, you may have seen the installation in the lake featuring the portraits of seven inspiring individuals who have made an impact on their communities. Commissioned as part of the National Lottery’s 30th Anniversary celebrations, the portraits were created by renowned grandmaster graffiti artist Luis Gomez De Teran, the images on Perspex screens appear to float on the water at the Royal Park. Made by Wylie Wood, Tisserin provided advice on the structural design that allows the acrylic and steel framed portraits to rise out of the water.
Bola met one of the honoured individuals Sandra Igwe, founder of The Motherhood Group, at the unveiling, by Adele Roberts on the opening weekend.
