A new timber frame structure within Santander’s new office and leisure complex in Milton Keynes.

The Brief

Tisserin were approached to design and detail a standalone CLT and Glulam structure to house a mezzanine food court within the public reception of a new office and community hub complex in Milton Keynes which opens to the public in autumn 2023.

The Design

Working closely with the timber fabricator, we designed a robust open sided structure to house a number of food outlets on two levels with views over the indoor reception area.

We also designed the timber-to-timber and timber-to-concrete connections, and tested the stability to ensure that the structure met the stringent requirements for public buildings..
